My work focuses on the metaphorical shaping of landmass' and architecture, in order to convey the acknowledgment of tragedy. Structurally, model making allows me to explore scale, proximity and our contextual relationship to the inner emotional landscape. In this, the sense of unease despair or revulsion might be made manifest in physical terms, but in such a way as to remove the need for an advocate. Such human anchors are detriment to universality.
Before and behind all of this 'skin', however, squats the sludge of reminiscence.
Thematically, my work is sited between the broodingly Gothic, and the destructive repugnance of turmoil. The two, bound together by gross anxiety and base irony.
